About the event:

Dear Madam/sir,

It is our pleasure to invite you to our roundtable discussion, Charge the Change: Financing & Powering Mumbai’s Last-Mile Electrification at Mumbai Climate Week 2026.

We represent the Sustainable Mobility Network, a coalition of 30+ organisations working across India that work on urban mobility issues. The launch of our report—Wheels of Change—attended by the Honourable Transport Minister and Transport Commissioner of the Government of Maharashtra, on World EV Day 2025 saw an insightful discussion between various stakeholders from Mumbai’s auto-rickshaw and taxi unions, academia, civil society, charging operators, OEMs, and financing companies. The discussion, along with the findings of our report, highlighted two major gaps in the EV transition of Mumbai’s auto and taxi fleets: financing and charging infrastructure.

Charge the Change aims to bring together these stakeholders in a closed-door roundtable with the goal of developing an action-oriented roadmap to addressing these gaps through clear operationalisation plans, budget outlays, innovative financing solutions, and public-private partnerships.

We look forward to your participation in this discussion on February 18 between 3:30 and 5:15 pm at the Trident Hotel, BKC
