How are Informal and Shared Mobility Systems Organised?

Workshop at the Global Convening on Informal and Shared Mobility

The workers who keep our cities moving, from bike couriers to delivery drivers, have the knowledge and skills to build safer, greener and more sustainable cities. But they are routinely excluded from urban design. Through bold regional campaigns, CMC aims to bridge the gap between civil society and frontline workers to build a powerful, united front to advocate for solutions that center people.
A critical part of workers’ knowledge is in the organising expertise often powering ISM. Informal does not mean unstructured. There are many ways ISM are organised, and understanding these models can unlock more effective support from advocates and policymakers. “How are Informal and Shared Mobility Systems (ISM) Organised?” will be an interactive workshop spotlighting practical lessons and frameworks with space to co-define successful organisational models.
The workshop will take place as part of the Global Convening on Informal and Shared Mobility in Bangkok, 26–28 October 2026.
