Cycle for Better Health kicks off in Bratislava

BYCS recognizes the essential role of active mobility in addressing climate, health, and equity challenges in communities. The Cycle for Better Health project aims to increase cycling among children in underserved areas, promoting healthy physical activity habits early in life and fostering long-term health benefits.

In Bogotá’s Suba and Usaquén neighbourhoods, BYCS has partnered with local champions, Mamacitas en Bici, to launch this initiative. Over 75 young children have already enrolled, helping foster a love for cycling and working to make it a regular part of their lives.

Building on this success, BYCS is expanding the Cycle for Better Health project to Bratislava, collaborating with Tomas Peciar, the city’s Bicycle Mayor, and Cyklokoalícia. The project has introduced indoor activities and workshops to inspire joy in cycling and promote healthy lifelong habits among children in vulnerable communities.
