Maginhawa street transformed: A community-driven initiative for safer, inclusive spaces

Maginhawa Street in Quezon City has been transformed into a vibrant, community-driven space for both pedestrians and cyclists. Through the SPARK Project, local businesses, advocacy groups, and residents collaborated to create safer, more inclusive areas along the street. Colorful murals now mark shared pathways for movement and spaces for socializing, helping to address safety concerns and traffic congestion. This temporary intervention, which began in late November 2024, aims to improve the urban environment with low-cost, creative solutions. The project is set to run until February 2025, with plans for potential future expansions.
