About the event:

Transport for Jakarta – Forum Diskusi Transportasi Jakarta (TfJ-FDTJ) is a community organization that serves as a communication and discussion platform for the general public and stakeholders related to the development of all modes of transportation in the Jakarta Metropolitan area (Jabodetabek). Established in 2014, TfJ-FDTJ has grown into a large online community with approximately 5,000 followers across various social media platforms.

With the goal of providing information and encouraging more people to switch to public transportation, since October 2016, the TfJ-FDTJ team—specifically the Cartography Team—has implemented the Jabodetabek BRT Network Map program, updated every two months to provide the most accurate visual information about public transport services for residents of Jakarta and its surrounding areas. On October 17, 2017, the TfJ Cartography Team launched a new version of the Jabodetabek Mass Transportation Network Map, integrating various mass transit modes such as BRT and the KRL Commuter Line.

About the organiser:

Transport for Jakarta (FDTJ/TfJ) recently concluded a major event by participating in the Jakarta Urban Mobility Festival (#JUMF2025), organized by fellow Clean Mobility Collective Southeast Asia (CMC SEA) member ITDP Indonesia.

From April 24 to 26, 2025, the festival showcased various alternatives for mobility and urban living in Jakarta, offering visitors a glimpse of how the city could look with a more sustainable and inclusive urban mobility system.

TfJ opened a booth at JUMF where visitors could engage with the online game Streetscape to share their visions for the future design of the streets in Blok M, the district hosting the event. We also displayed our own visions for Blok M through physical installations, which helped promote both CMC and the Southeast Asia Mobility Awards (SEAMA).

Additionally, TfJ distributed specially updated, designed, and printed transport maps of Jakarta as free merchandise at the festival. On the event’s opening day, TfJ had the honor of presenting the map to the UK Ambassador to Indonesia, who attended alongside Jakarta’s governor.

TfJ hosted two events on JUMF’s main stage:

  1. A discussion session on the future of Transit-Oriented Development (ToD) in Blok M, featuring stakeholders from MRT Jakarta (Jakarta’s metro operator), the Japan International Cooperation Agency, TfJ experts, and the community group Stravenues as speakers; and

  2. A talk show featuring Indonesian members of CMC SEA (Bicara Udara, Enter Nusantara, Koalisi Pejalan Kaki, and TfJ) alongside an urban lifestyle content creator @abbymarcel, where TfJ promoted CMC SEA and encouraged people to join the Southeast Asia Mobility Awards (SEAMA).

TfJ also shared insights from the recent CMC global gathering, informing the audience about our collective work and how we plan to move forward both globally and regionally. It was a very insightful experience!
